Springfield and vicinity were much grieved on last Monday morning when news wasfeceived hereof the death of Mrs Imelda Leachmah rat the home of her daughter Mrs Jnq Hill in Lebanon where she was visit ingv Mrs Leachman was one of the most loved and honored women in the county and her death is not only mourned by ctqse friends and relatives but by all of those who knew her beau tiful life Mrs Leachman contracted pneumonia about tvo weelsago arid4 from the be ginning the disease preyed heavily uPon her delicate constitution Ailth t skIlled physicians and loving hands could do to arrest the disease was resorted to but to no avail T She was 61 years of age having been born at this place Sept 20 1843 In 1865 she was married to Mr Stephen B Leachman who died about twenty one years ago To this union five children were born four of whom are now living They are Mrs Jn67 Hill of L bnonand Miss Lizzie and Messrs Walter E and William Lea lunanof this place Hundreds of friends here and elsewhere extend condolence to these who mourn the departure 64 a lovable Christian mother She was devoted to her children she wis their companion SHe was alight to their pathway she was their advisor and comfQrter and by all of her beautiful characteristics had endeared herself to them in a way which makes the parting an unusually sadoneVMrs Leachman was a conscientious member of the Catholic church at this place She was one of its strongest and most valuable members and she will be greatly missed by the congre galion She was ever ready to admin ister to the sick she waS charitable toward children seeing the runaway team instigated a search for the driver Quite a little distance from where they saw the horses pass they found the unfortunate man with the box resting upon his head They af once notified some older persons who hurried to the scene Upon examina tion it was f9und that Mr Hales neck ljad been broken bides his head was frightfully crushed The deceased was well known in Washington county where he has many friends and relatives he having left this county about ten years ago with his family locating at aesvi1le I1L Mr Hide leaves a wife and one child to mounTthe loss
