I. & B. railroad took place in Louisville last week, at a meeting of the new board of directors, one of whom is Hon. Jas B. McCreary, of this city. It is expected that the completion of tho road from Irvine to Beattyville Will bo begun at once, and finished by January 1. The road will be known as tho Louisville & colored lad employed by Capt. John R. Pates, as houseboy, accidontly hanged himself at Capt. Pates' residence, on Broadway, last Wednesday. The little fellow, with a companion, had been playing in a plum tree durT ing the forenoon, and had a leather strap belonging possibly to a telescope or valise, which was tied to a iiuiD m the tree, the strap passed through tbe buckle, making a loop. It was thought bv the coroner's jury that the boy had playfully placed tho loop around his neck while standing on a large jug directly under the limb from which the strap was fastened, and possibly forgetting or not thinking of ids perilous position, lost his balance, the jug slipping out from under his feet, leaving him dangling in the air. The jug on which he was standing was thrown to one side, indicating in every way that tho boy had met death as abovo s'tated. As soon as discovered, Dr. Jasper was summoned, but medical attention failed to resufcitate the boy, ho having been dead for more than thirty minutes.
