Tennessee Company made the following statement in regard to the deal The main object of the East Tennessee Company in the purchase is to make their line a leading north and south line starting from Cincinnati and reaching Jacksonville Florida and Mobile on the Gulf Shreveport New Orleans and Memphis It will be the last purchase by the East Tennessee Company and will complete the system No Richmond terminal stock will be issued on account of this purchase The whole transaction will be an East Tennessee transaction and for the benefit of that system alone The condition of the Kentucky Central and N N Si M V Railroads is the latest deal in railroad circles The Transcript published some weeks ago that the deal had been made but could not give the fact of the transfer at that time as the officials of the lines in this city refused to talk It can now be said to be a certainty that the Kentucky Central has secured control of M V Company or rather the N N the two roads are to be consolidated Mr C P Huntington holds the controlling interest in both roads and will have general management of the consolidated line Tr e Kentucky Central people are on top in the shuffle and II E
