a sufferer from phthisic and for the past 14 years had spent a greater part of his time in Texas where he received great relief and benefit He was a native of this county and had lived a greater part J E Coombs Another of the countys oldest citizens has passed beyond but his memory will remain many hearts Judge B L P Guffy Dead Judge B L D Guffy one of the most prominent figures in Kentucky for half a cen tury died at his home at Morgan town Feb 27th from an attack of the grip and the infirmities of old age Judge Guffy was born in county Ky In 1833 He was educated in the public schools and college at Glasgow He settled in Butler county in 1854 and was ad mitted to the bar i86 at Morgan town He was appointed by Presi dent Lincoln as Assistant Marshal to take the census in 1860 He was
