MONDAY NIGHT After a Lingering Illness at the nome of His Mother Mrs P C lau hlin on Mays vile Street The Death Angel visited our city Monday night and took from our midst the soul of T Aquinas Laughlin aged 18 The young man had been in poor health for several months but death came as a shock to his friends as he was able t Fbe out and walk around as late as Sunday afternoon Upon the death of his father F C Laughlin a little over a year ago he took charge of his moth ers business but was after a few months forced to give it up owing thefmost popular young men in the city possessing a genial disposi tion with the faculty of making friends one of the chief character fattiere hissmajority he always took an active interest in everything that tended toward the advancement and pros perity of our city and was ever ready to contribute to any good cause Ho had been sick a long time but bore his suffering without a murmur and was never heard to complain his chief thought always being to protect and shield from widowedfmother His life is an example of andsheaventwith the respect and esteem of everyone He is survived by his mother and grandfather four brothers and five sisters who in their hour of sorrow have the sympathy of the entire community Services at St Patricks Ohurch Wednesday morning at 10 oclock conducted by Father Rohrer and burial in St Thomas Cemetery e Many frlends by Being Quietly Married at the Brides Home Thursday Afternoon The many friends of Mr Clif ton R Prewitt and Miss Bettie Owings were greatly surprised last Thursday afternoon when it was learned they had just been married at the beautiful home of this bride on the Owingsville pike The wedding was a very quiet af fair only the immediate family of the bride being present to witness the ceremony which was per formed by Rev J C Cummins of Winchester pastor of the Presbyterian church of that city Immediately after the ceremony the couple drove to this city and took the 347 C 0 train Occupied by Wick Bush On Monday evening about g oclock fire was discovered in the rear of A C Tiptons carriage factory on East High street The fire rapidly spread to the livery stable occupied by Wick Bush adjoining and but for the prompt andskillful service of the fire de partment would have gone up in flames All of the horses vehi cles etc were quickly removed from the stable as were also the
