J r t = XX MT APRIL 12 1911 40 Sam C Estcs Dead Sam C Estes was found dead in bed on last Monday night just be fore one oclock Mr Estes had been complaining with pains in his stomach before retiring but seemed familywentihcr the night they found him dead i Estes was a mah of wide uc quaiiitance and was a prominent and popular man both in this and Clark county He was sixty two yearsof age and had been a mem ber of the Masonic order for ninny years He is survived by his wife Mrs Margaret Estes and three children Mrs J D Spalding of Catlettsburg Goo M Estes of Burnside and Clyde G Estes of near Kiddville The funeral ser vices were held at the Kiddville tiaptist Church Tuesday interment in Machpelah cemetery More Trouble in Breathitt Anse White shot and killed Jason Deaton Sunday near Jack son Deaton was shot three times through the head The killing occurred Sunday afternoon at Anse Whites home in the lower edge of Breathitt county near the perry county line where the Dea Xtons Whites and many relatives of Doth families live in the same White was slightly wounded in the thigh while be sides killing Jason Deaton White shot Luke Begley who had accompanied Deaton to Whites home in the family of Enos Haag and about thirtyseven years ago there came to grace the family a son and this son was named Ernest Haag and as soon as he couldeven play tiff ith toys pet playthinirs were the toy animals his parents and neighbors had given him When he grew older his play days were spent playing circus and show and when he was fortunate enough to see one of the circuses that visited his own home he would elaborate on it in his own way and so it went on until he was 19 years old He then secured a position with one of the large circuses in an executive capacity returning home at the finish of the season with one thought to have a show of his own that would be recognized by the circus king also a Southern show for Southern people The following spring he bought a flat boat and organized small show floating down the Red River on the flat boat playing the small towns on the river front He next bought a few wagons and startedan overland show every year enlarging and getting new features became too large to travelon wagons It was then transposed to a railroad show with its own special trains In the fifteen years history ot this enterprise each year has been an urexplained growth and
