elsewhere make oh tobacco The poor hillside land will make from one and a half to two barrels per acre while the bottoms will go twelve to fifteen barrels peracre or take the whole county on aver agJ it will go five tarrelsAt 2 per barrel the way corn is sell ing now how much money is to be made On ten acres hillside land we can count on about 40 L and on the same amount of bottom- land aoout 240 Now let us see what would be the result if this same land was in tobacco The Ieflowingare some tobacco sales made in Louisville last weekf- J Hi Reese of near Keenej sold his crop of tobacco consistiug of about 11000 pounds at 675 James Ware of Sbarpsburg has sold a crop of 6000 pounds of to bacco to the Continental Company for 816 cts The same company has bought a number of crops in the same section of Bf th for 8cent Those Avho have raised tobacco say that the land which ve speak of as producing lve and fifteen arrels of corn will produce 8oo pound of tobacco find the hillide- sa70ju out fields with a httle fertilizer go to 400 or 500 pounds per acre On the tabacco sales we find where one kind sells for 634 cts another for 834 cts and another for 8 cts But suppose you could only sell your tobacco for 5 cts per pound Then what would be theresult Ten acres in tobacco and 800 pounds to the acre Vould be 8000 pounds at sets per pound or 4 O1a difference there of 160 between
