was started be tween Col Cambell and Col Den ney of the defense The lie pass ed between them and almost in stantly there was a big row in which the crowd showed a disposition to take part Many peopl very strong physical facts i7 Goebel was killed and before you could drop your hat the mili tia was not only called but was there completely surrounding the executive building to protect the assassins therein John Powers had declared that Goebel would be killed that morning and Caleb Powers had even made threats Against the Democratic Secretary of State Breck Hill The circumstances surrounding the killing the contest of Taylor in not permitting the executive building to be searched the very quick appearance of the militia his threatening and encouraging declaration to Caleb Powers forces upon
