March In the weeIsmall hours a market basket was left on Mr J O Spratts front porch l containing a handsome boy baby apparently three or four days old The baby was well wrapped up and seemed lo be drugged Upon finding tt- rhd next morning it was taken In I flat d cared for by these kind people a 1 he county authorities were notified 1I Immediately but they were slow to d r t in making any disposition for it L lure Meanwhile the babe was par d from place to place and it seemed it no one was likely to befriend the 4 lttle waif by giving it a permanent home Finally Mrs Ona Naylor of this t place went to Rowland and got the little thing and carried it home where it had been ever since She named it Oliver for a dead son and Moses because like Moses the leader ofrIsrael ho was found In a basket Mrs Naylor and family became very much rt attached to it at once and now that it is dead their grief Is hard to bear Tho bereaved family has the sympathy of the ontlrq community While nothing
