Jones Dies In Louisville While Undergoing Operation For Cancer Of Face. Roliert G. Jones, for eleven years the town marahnl of Stanford, died sudden- ly and unexpectedly In I.ouiivillo Wed icHijay micrpuuii, jvmic undergoing an operation for oncer of the face with which he had suffered for some tlmo. Mr. Jones was one of the best known residents of Stsnford and news of his death came as a severe shock to the community. Mr. Jones was born in Rockeastlo county 01 years ago. When it young man he removed to Lincoln couny, where ho made his permanent home. He enirneed In eentractinir and carrion. 'tcringand by frugality and energy he aroajueua competence. Alter serving faithfully as town mirslisl of the city for eleven years, he retired and bought a grocery and general store on Depot street, which he and his sons wore conducting at the timo of his death. His wife and flvo children John, Walter, Robert. Maggie and Kittie survive. The deceased waa n member of the Christian church and of the lodge of Maccabees. The burial took place on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock In IIutTalo Cemetery, services being conducted by Rev, Walker. THE ELECTRIC LIGHT TREATMENT dreamed of before 1891. In that year Dr. wns unknown and unJ. H. Kello&J. of Battle Creek, devised the first Electric Light treatment apparatus. Two years later apparatus made after the original model wns exhibited at the World's Fair in Chicago. A visitor from Germany saw the apparatus, became interested in it, visited Battle Creek to become familiar with the technique of its use, and in returning to Germany began its manufacture and sale in that country. The treatment soon became highly popular in Germany. King Edward of England was sured of a distressing ailment at Hamburg, by means of a series of these light treatments. As a result he had the apparatus installed in his Windsor and Buckingham palaces.
