pent two hours most pleasantly with them Wo loft Kentucky soil at 830 p M via Covlngton Suspension Bridge Left Cincinnati at Q r 16 and day light of tho 17th found us speeding through Western Illinois on a fig Four fast tram Wo reached St Louis at 730 A M and had an hour and 30 minuted In which to get cinders out of our eye wash our faces and cat breakfast bo fore leaving St Louis ovcr tho Missou ri Pacific It was a beautiful day and 1 It added a great deal to the beauty of t1thescenery Wo pled for many miles tho Missouri river and must say that Missouri has as good looking blue gross land almost as Kentucky and i her growing wheat is tho best I have seen At St Louis wo telegraphed our our old friend and cousin John Rey nolds at Sedalla Mo that we would stop and pay him a 24 hours visit r- on 0 reacblngthat place we were met by him and taken to his home where n splendid dinner awaited us He left nothing undone to make our stay pleasant Sedalla is one of tho prettiest and most uptodate towns I was ever In It has a population of 40000 to 45 tOO and is growing fast It is on a rich level prairie and her bluo grass and fino horses make ono think of home I was taken to the top of tho splendid now court house where ono gets a tine view 4 of tho city and country To reach tho top of the court house domo ono has to climb 142 steps Tho Missouri State Fair has its buildings and ground hero and any citizen of Sedalla Is bound toi bo proud of them Wo left Sedalla at 3 r to on tho 18th nnd reached Kansa City at G30 where we took supper and waited until 11 r M before leaving for our destination Most of our 51 hours wait was spent In seeing the sight o the city as best wo could by night At 11 oclock we bid farewell to our friend John Reynolds who had come with us from Sedalia
