most everything but the trouble is getting it out sometimes For instance while the Hoos iers were wrapped in a heavy snow on Tuesday plodding here and there the patients of the Martinsville Sanitarium were comfortably ensconced in the big porches all glass front with their feet resting on the large heating pipes that made them as snug as a bug in a rug The beautiful was viewed from a distance as it the two points can be obtained for 1 On every other Sunday the Vandalia makes a round trip price of 80c An opera house is badly needed here In this town of 5000 inhabitants there is only one place of Martinsville people who are afflicted with rheumatism it was not surprising when a beautiful bride who with her groom came hero to spend their honeymoon was approached by a motherly old lady with the were intended and thanked her stars that old rheumy had not struck her yet- In this connection it might not be out place to state that many bridal couples come here and they find it a very de lightful Rooseveltian pyrotechnics and Presi dent Taft seems not to have tried to make his message more than a dull and dreary recital Those who expected better things are disappointed while his admirers admire of course The entire document shows that the President is no better than his party and that he cannot arise above it even if he had the inclination The best that can be said of it is that it is the careful and dignified ut trance of a man who doesnt wish to say too much to hurt the feelings of those who do not believe in the policy of the reactionists to whom he seems united Lexington Gazette PETITIONS are being circulated by citizens of this place calling on CanI gre8 man Harvey Helm to use his best efforts to get an appropriation for a government building at Stanford Keep up the good work Stanford should have a government building by all means There is no reason why we should be left out in the cold and our neighboring townsgetting what they want in the way of appropriations There never was a time when a Congressman could not get things for his home town that he could not get for others Lets see what we shall see We have enlisted in this fight for a government building district to avoid complications with the races for Stato offices which aro already beginning to attract atten tion POLITICAL The Fourth district Congressional committee will meet March 12 to determine the time and manner of nomi nating a candidate for Congress Hon Ben Johnson will have no opposition Gov Glaascock of West Virginia re ceived a telegram from Gov Harmon of Ohio which says the latter Is in formed lawless persons are gathering I on the West Virginia side near Bridge I port Ohio with the purpose of firing on I Ohio militia stationed at Bridgeport Some of the papers are suggesting that in view of the result in Alabama Mr Bryan was a little previous in se letting prohibition as his latest paramount issue For our part we believe ho had better left the matter severely alone that is if it is intention to incorporate it in the list of Democratic is sues It is better to treat the liquor evil as a moral instead of a political question and Mr Watterson says a Democrat cannot be a
