Old Virginia, may her sacred soil grow better as the days go by, elected a democratic governor by tho usual majority. Democrats won county offices in many republican strongholds and tho Senato and House are both largely democratic. Lincoln county did herself proud by giving democratic majorities, ranging from 350 to OoO and electing every coun ty officer save two magistrates. It was a good day's work and shows what democracy can do when democrats are in fighting trim. Tug worst news of the election comes from Fayette county, which went republican, electing that chief of turncoats. Judge Watts Parker, circuit judge. Ho had filled the office for some 20 years by the grace of democrats and ago, when confronted with the fact that he could not again get the nomination, he "flew the coop" and landed under the log cabin. The groom is the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Sim Blankensbip, of Preachersville, and is a very industrious, sober and honest young man. They will go to housekeeping immediately near Preach ersville and their many friends wish for them a union of true bliss. At the pretty home of Mr. E. C. The bride, who is one of the most highly accomplished and universally admired young women in this entire section, was gowned in a handsome creation of white satin and wore a bridal veil. She carried a huge bouquet of bride's roses. She was an exceeeingly pretty bride and the gentleman who had won her heart and hand must indeed have felt proud of her. The groom wore the conventional black. After the ceremony was over and the congratulations were through with, an elegant lunch, beautifully served, was partaken of by the 50 close friends and relatives present. This over, Mrs. Gibbs donned a becoming traveling suit and hat and the happy pair were soon oil on their long journey to Manila.
