John Henry Thomas, editor of a little vermifuge wrapper known as the Casey County News, says if ho "lived in precinct he would vote for S. W. The truth is John Henry has been beaten for olllco so often that he is quito envious of one who can be elected. There seems to bo a gang of robbers living in or near this place. Every few weeks a store or dwelling is broken Into. Last Friday night an attempt to break into the store of J. Thos. Cherry was made by chopping or trying to chop through the door but by some robbers means or other tho would-bwero frightened away before completing their work. A second attempt was made Sunday night but Clerk Durham, who was sleeping in tho store, scared off the person or persons. On each of the nights the boarding house of Mrs. Anna Shumate was entered and some wearing apparel taken the first night but Mrs. Durham, lying awake, heard the noise and started to call for help which frightened away tho thieves. o C. State troops in citizens' clothes are guarding the tobacco crop of G. A. Simpson, in Msson county. Mr. Simpson is shipping his crop to Cincinnati. He refused to join tho Burley pool.
