To TUB DEMOCRATS OF LINCOLN COUNTY The court of appeals has de cided that it has no power to correct tho action of tho county committee in dismissing my contest without a trial and that the action of tho committee however unjust and unfair it may be is final and beyond tho jurisdiction of the courts to remedy This decision does not change and in no way touches the facts in my case But it does necessa rily end my contest for tho nomination for the office of sheriff I havo only asked for and sought by my contest to get at the facts and in trying to do so I havo followed the very letter of tho law and our party rules which wero adopted to correct mistakes and deprive fraud of its fruits It seems however they aro useless for the purposes of their adoption and there Is no law or party rule to correct fraud in our party elections As stated in my former card I believe I received a majority of the legal votes and was fairly nominated I A recount of the ballots as placed in tho boxes would havo demonstrated the fact therefore no recount was allowed I made the race upon my own strength I never attempted to farm out the of fice To have fairly won the nomina tion under the circumstances with the party machinery against me as shown by the action of the county committee in dismissing my contest without a trial I was indeed a compliment and very gratifying to me I
