talk about Mans Wagner and Fred Clarke and Tommy Leach winning the pennant for Pittsburg this year remarked a member of the Pirate team the other day RotYouve got to go further down the teams lineup to produce the real six cylinder kid thats propelling the Pitts burg bunch along toward tho flag and a whack at the worlds championed coin Who is it Nobody but that sturdy son of old Kentucky Howard Camnitz How do I figure it Easiest thing in the world Youll remember the Pi rates were right on the heels of the leaders at the close of last seasonso close that if they had won that last Sunday game at Chicago they would have cinched tho pennant then and thereAnd the reason why this one game was made the turning point t f their finish was that Camnitz wasnt in the game for quite n while during the hot test part of the campaign The fact was that the little fellow broke training rules on one or more occasions and so had to be disciplined and during the infliction of this penalty several games were lost that should have been won and would have been easy for us had amnitz been in the box This year theres nothing of the kind on tap Camnitz has been win ling with a regularity surpassed only by that with which Mathewson is downing the other fellows Ho is fully aware of the damage his transgressions of last season wrought and hes deter mined to make up for it this yearand- Is more than making
