Walton of this place and is wellknown hero DROSYNEDThtMR AL WARREN sad news came Wednesday morning that Mr Albert A Warren had drowned Ir tho canal of Yellow Creek at Middles boro The canal is just back of hit borne and it IB believed that in his ef fort to get out some floating timbers ho fell in the swollen stream He was seen floating down stream and a rope was thrown to him which he caught but could not hold This was tho last seen of him and the supposition is that he drowned A searching party was made up at once and Yellow Creek was dragged for miles but at last accounts the body had jj jt been found Sir Warren moved with his family to Mid dlesboro from Stanford some five or six years ago and for some timo had been news editor of the NewsRecord He was about GO years old and a son taken from us George L Carpenter By his death this organiza tion has lost a good friend a wise director and a faithful assistant He came to us while his father was super intendent and through all the years al though his business called him away he would come back and by his Inspiring talk and cherry words give us encour agement His life was one of service He served us faithfully and efficiently as assistant superintendent president of Christian Endeavor and as general director of our organization With every work that was for the upbuildlni of character and the cause of Christ he was identified When we were joyful he would rejoice when sorrow was our portion his was true sympathy as kindand gentle as a woman He was young but his advice was sought and his counsel heeded Too young was he to die it seemed- to us but he used the years well In early life ho became a Christian he was always good and up until his soul went into the land of life eternal ho never murmured his suffering was borne with patience His life is a monument to Christian manhood His heart was large the good he has done will never be known but every day we learn of some deed that shows his great sympa thetic heart- Physically he was not strong yet cold and sleet were heeded not when he heard of sorrow or distress Could each good deed be a stone and each kind act u cement we would rear a monument to the clouds But in our hearts we have a memorial more last ing than stone His influence will go on and on To the family we extend our sympathy but would remind them of the following lines which he so often organlza tion has lost a good friend a wise di rector and a faithful assistant He came to us while bis father was super intendent and through all the years ale though his business called him away he would come back and by his inspiring talk and cherry words give us encour agement His life was one of service He served us faithfully and efficiently as assistant superintendent president of Christian Endeavor and as general director of our organization With every work that was for the upbuildinj of character and the cause of Christ he was identified When we were joyful he would rejoice when sorrow was our portion his was true sympathy as kind and gentle as a woman He was young but his advice was sought and his counsel heeded Too young was he to die it seemed- to us but ho used the years well In early life he became a Christian he was always good and up until his soul went into the land of life eternal he never murmured his suffering was borne with patience His life is a monument to Christian manhood IllS heart was large the good he has done will never be known but every day we learn of some deed that shows his great sympa thetic heart- Physically he was not strong yet- cold and sleet were heeded not when he heard of sorrow or distress Could each good deed be a stone and each kind act a cement we would rear a monument to the clouds But in our hearts we have a memorial more last ing than
