As this paper stated last iisue, it took no hand in tho primary and it reiterates what it said, congratulating tho victor and sympathizing Tho Courier-Journwith the vanquished. claims the nomination of Judgo Saufley a victory for tho whisky clement but such is not tho case. We know of many warm tempcranco people who worn "teeth and too nail" for Judgo Saufley. Tho whisky question should never have been Injected in tho race and the tempcranco people now see J their error. Judgo Saufley has proven his fitness for tho position by 11 years on tho bench and ho will again demonstrate that he is the ablest circuit judgo in tho State. The article closes with an appeal that every true democrat will endorse: Democrats may differ upon this mitter just as they differ upon religion, literature, social affairs, or any other subject, but the State Journal simply asks that they stand reunited, aggressive, and hopeful, that by wise and sensible action they may restore this State to Democracy's control and do their part towards the ultimate redemption of the Federal government from the power of the Republican party. The Texas Legislature has passed an amendment to the appropriation for the State Industrial School providing that girls shall be taught millinery and dress making, but,in no case are they to be , taught to make a hat to cost moro than $20 or a dress more than $50.
