election shall on or before 12 oclock midnight of the 22nd day of January 1909 deposit with the treasurer of the committee the sum hereby fixed as the entrance fee in the race for tho office for which hois a candidate said sum so realized to bused in defraying the expenses of tho primary At the same time the candi date shall give written notice to the chairman that he desires to be a candi date and name the office he seeks The entrance fee of candidates sha be as follows For sheriff 40 Cor county judge 10 for county at torney 10 for county clerk 10 Cor jailer 15 for assessor 10 for rep resentative 10 for school superintendent 10 circuit clerk 10 4th The election shall be held inal respects as required by statute relative to primary elections and a uniforn ballot shall be used in all voting precincts The chairman of the commit tee is directed to cause to bo printer and distributed to the several voting precincts the necessary ballots and all supplies necessary to the legal conduct of the election 5th The democratic county commit teo shall appoint officers to hold the election in each precinct who shall be selected from lists furnished by all can didates who desire to submit lists The officers shall be as nearly divided as possible as to judges clerks and sher- Iffs among the various candidates The officers of the primary shall as soon as the polls are closed which shall bo door at 4 r M proceed at once to count tho ballots cast for each and every candi date for office and after counting same they will place all ballots voted in the ballot boxes furnished by the commit tee sealing up the boxes as required bylaw and within two days thereafter the shetlffs and judges of election wil deposit the boxes with the chairman of the county committee at the court housein Stanford The officers of tho election in each precinct will make am sign a written statement showing the number of votes cast for each and every candidate for office in the precinct and place said statement in an envelope and deposit it in the ballot boxes 6th The returns are to bo made to the chairman of the county committee and should he be absent from the coun ty then to the secretary of the com mittee at tho court house within two days after the election On the next day after the election the county com mittee shall meet and canvass the re turns of the election and make certifi
