whyvyou should in the interests of either morality or politics wish toStampoutGoebelism It is true the majority of the voters in my precinct are negroes and I doubt not as they are like yourself such stickers for purity in pol- ¬ itics they will be likely to help you Stamp out Goebelism especially it when writing to them instead of asking for a yi dollar you enclose one to them as per your own in truction I will not presume as some have done to read you a lec- ¬ ture upon your duty as a christian minister for whenever a man goes into a partnership as it seems you have done with such men as are now on the stump in Kentucky at ¬ tempting by a system of mendacity which is unparalleled in its ghoulishness and which would be sublime if it were not ridiculous I am satisfied that either he is an emissary of the enemies of democ eracy or else the self appointed agent of the D himself in either of which case he neither knows nor cares for his christian dutyOh how ignorant you must think the voters are if you believe you can induce them to believe you are really in earnest about stamping out anything that is wrong in mor- ¬ als or vile in politics when four confederates and allies are such as they are Goon with your dirty work It is helping the cause of Goebelism which should be and is dear to the heart of every true Ken- ¬ tucky Democrat Yours ect I will not say respect- ¬ fully materially altering the con- ¬ ditions which existed when the tun ¬ nel was first built Finally the plan of M Saccardo was adopted This consists in forcing a volume of air at high speed into an annular cham ¬ ber which encircles the whole cir- ¬ cumference of the tunnel at one end From this chamber the air escapes on the inside face of the tunnel and it is either drawn out or forced in so as to produce an artificial current The plant is installed at Goeschenan at the northern end of the tunnel and will act for the most part to push the air out from north to south in the ordinary direction
