the field In use the hind truck which also has a tool or seed box is detached and the plow attached to the forward truck the tongue of the plow fits into the upper axle beam of this truck directly in tho center and is kept in place by a peg which passes through the tongue and around which peg passes a half moon iron band with a slight chain at each end secured to the axle This chain and band can be shortened or lengthened at pleasure by removing the peg from ono hole to another in the plow beam with tho result that the plowshare cuts a shallow or deep furrow as may bo directed and without the plowman directing apy attention thereto once the plow beam is set For instance when the beam is shortened up a shal- ¬ low furrow is the result lengthened ont one hole a trifle deeper furrow and so on Tho plow beam being rigid or nearly so does not deviate to the right or left but follows straight after the center of the forward truck and after the horse also tho plow- ¬ share cutting a smooth even and clean furrow The width of the two wheeled truck is regulated also so that tho right hand wheel travels in tho furrow previously cut thus as- ¬ sisting materially a straight course and in order
