pass by that the Governor has manifested no interest in the Scotts or the institution since Dr Scott made an objection to the ap pointment of Miss Ella Watson as matron This lady formerly wbb Louisville Commercial in yesterdays paper says Dr Ben Letcher tho superintendent of the Hopkinsville asylum whose romoval has beeu recommended by Inspector Lester errived here tonight accompaiuied by rnaiu 6tore being at Clarksville The Gracey branch was managed byJMr Albert C McGehee one of tho brothers About seven years ago the firm lost a store at Belleview two miles from Gracey in which one of the brothers John Q McGehee and a negro man uamed Chester Gray were burned to death Tho building was wrecked by a tornado and burned before the imprisoned men could be rescued The main store at Clarksville was also destroyed in a general conflagra tion a few yeara ago This fire seri ously crippled the enterpriBeing firm but the brothers picked their flints and came again and were soon on their feet again The Gracey house will of course be rebuilt at once as it is one oi tneir best Btanus and does u very largo business in two counties The loss to B JWall i8 a building worth about 1500 the first fire that Iibb visited the town which was built about ten years ago There aro no facilities for fighting fire in Gracey and the flames could not bo stopped until tho McGehee building and tho
