floor and in a short and pointed speech placed the name of Mr Valentine Berberich before the meeting The nomination was seconded by Mr Edward Lane and Rev Eugene Evans in short speeches when the nomination of Mr Berberich was made unanimous A committee was appointed to notify Mr Berberich of his nomination and during their absence in responbe to a call Judge W H Sneed addressed the meeting During Judge Sneeds remarks the committee appeared escorting Mr Berberich who was conducted to the stand and in a neat and modest speech accepted the nomination pledging himself if elected to dis
