promise of marriage Roxy who has been living at Slaxville Tavern in the care of Squire Hazlitt but is now at Garri- ¬ sons city jjhomo discovers the plot of Swift and his accomplice Jim Rich to find and destroy the docu- ¬ ment made out by Garrison before his illness which would give1 Roxy her rightful fortune Swift and Jim are going to the Iron Works at ten oclock that night to find the paper having reason to believe that Garri- ¬ son concealed it in the office Roxy contrives to imprison Jim who is tipsy in a room and visits the Iron Works in his stead where with the aid of Hy Hazlitt the Squires son and her faithful adorer she hopes to discover the document before Swift comes Swift has insured the Iron Works for their full value and has resolved to blow up the buildings with a
