1903 NO 41 The Stanton Convention Pursuant to a call of district and county chairmen the Democrats of Powell county met in mass convention in the courthouse at Stan ton Saturday Oct 3 forth pur pose of selecting and instructing delegates to attend tho Legislative convention at Irvine Oct 10 Hon John McKinney was made chairman and Romulus Jackson secretay A motion to go to tho Irvine convention uninstructed was lost Albert Easter was placed in nomination by Judge G M Derickson and 0 II Mackey was nominated by A H Norton The vote being taken showed a major of tho house for Easter The dele gates were then instructed to cast the three votes of Powell for Albert Easter for Representative in the general convention at Irvine and to vote as unit on all questions com ing before the convention
