A survey will probably be made via Danville and Stanford, but, dear reader, believe us when we say that this survey through the other counties will not amount to a hill of beans if we come up to the scratch with our duty in this matter. The Southern has exactly the kind of survey she wants right here, and if she is given the right of way she does not want to go any other route. What does a road like the Southern care for a town the size of Stanford, Danville and Lancaster all pitched into a heap? What she wants is a direct line to make its connection, and the survey here fills that want. We are fortunate to be on this line, and if we do our part we will pet the road, but if any antagonism is shown the road will be built elsewhere. Of course they are not going to buy a right of way through a county where the people would be hostile to them and keep them plastered over with little 2x4 annoying law suits. We stick to our assertion that this road means the making of Garrard county, and now is the only opportu nity we will ever have to get another rail road. If we miss this, its goodbye Paulanthy with us. Everything is in our favor, and what we want to do is to keep our shoulder to the wheel and not cease tugging away.
