The farmer will be given two shipping routes to Cin cinnati and Louisville, and, greatest of all, it will open a route for him to ship his grain and other products to tne boutuern market, which will, ere long, far surpass the north. Th is road runs through the finest coal and timber in Kentucky, and, being on a direct line, will it not give you better rates than you could possibly get other wise? By giving you better rates to market, and furnishing you coal and lumber cheaper, is not that a benefit to you? This Is a serious matter and one of vital importance to every resident of the county. The Kentucky Distillers and Warehouse company has brought suit in the United States district court here against the proprietors of the W. 3. Saffell distillery, near Lawrcnceburg; the Waterfill & Frazer distillery, near Tyrone, and the D. L. Moore, near Burgin. The allegations aiv that the plaintiff company, after securing option on these plants, was forced to defer payment because of what was considered an attempted gouge on the part of the defendants. The suits filed show that the trust was anxious to secure the plants, and made several attempts after securing the option to get them at what was considered a just price. The largest suit is atrainst W. B. Saffell, of Lawrcnceburg. The price to be paid in case the option was ac cepted was $33,000, exclusive of the price of the whisky stored in the distillery, a special price being placed on that.
