Ingkksoll, the most no ted infidel, died last week. Tlie enu came so suddenly, he was not given a chance to do the usual song and dance worked off by peop'e who have led sinful lives and try to patch things up at the last minute. Mr. Ingersoll was one of the brainiest men the country has produced, and 'tis indeed a pity the great mind could not have been utilized in doing good. We never believed he was sincere in his infidel gab, but only talked that way for wl.at money there was in it, and we firmly believe that had he known his checks were to be called for he would have made acknowledgements "before men" of his sins and begged for peace with God. His sudden taking off should be a great warning to people who continue in their devilment and meanness, expecting to patch up things before they die. We take no stock in eleventh hour confessions and believe that wings cut and fit so suddenly will not bear up the sinner's weight. Monday morning, and all pupils are urged to be on hand promptly.
