Being Circulated to the Effect that a Case of Small Pox Exists in Lancaster We regret very much that a report is being circulated over the county that a case of small pox is in Lancas ter Some one started a report that a man named Clark had come from Mid dlesboro and was now down with a genuine case We can state positively that such is not the case Nobody has come here from Middlesboro for sever al weeks nor could a person come from there without everybody know ing it a sharp lookout being let for that purpose There is no more danger in coming to Lancaster than there is in going to any is invested in this ds tellery The orignal punt was erected by CoL John W Mule was de stroyed by fire excepting the large warehouse in February 1895 Pre vious to the fire the Levy Brothers of Cincinnati purchased the plant Immediately after its destruction they began the erection of the present plant The distillery proper is built entirely of brick and is a model of convenience and perfection only the latest im proved machienry and fixtures being used As a rule a distillery is a very dirty place but here everything is as neat and clean as a new pin The tubs floors and machinery are scour ed and rubbed daily and a stylishly dressed lady could go all over the premises without soiling a thread The distiller Mr Calvin Nevieus is said by those who know to be one of the best in the state and judging from the excellent article produced this reputation is well earned The plant is now in operation and 103 bush eles mashed per day from which Mr Nevieus produces from 9 to 9 12 barrels bottling department is a new feature with distillers the government only recently granting them privilege This department at the Pilgrimage is nu er the direction of Mr Jake Kortz of Paducah The arrangement are perfect and as Mr Kortz is an expert hand at the bus mess the goods of the Pilgrimage will go to customers looking second to none The company is bottling some of its sixyearold goods which is considered as fine whisky as can be found in the state The liquor is place J in a copper tank and passes through a per fect fillering michine before reaching the bottles Mr Kortz has a force of han Is who cork seal and lable the are then put in cases aftr ready for shipment We were surprised to learn of the enormous quantity of whisky in the Pilgrimage warehouse There are two tremendous houses both built on the most modern plan In these are stor ed 4300 to 4400 barrels of whiskey It is worth a trip out there just to go thrcujh these enormous warehouses As manager Miller is said to be one of the best in Kentnjky He h s en ie control over tle plant and whatever he wants or suggests is promptly granted by the company which goes to show the high estima tion they have for Friday at Paint Lick George the little 7yearold son of Mr L C Rucker was caught in the mill ma chinery at that place and instantly killed The little fellow we had gone to the basement of the mill and
