B C DIECKMAN One of Countys Most Prominent I Business Men Dies At His Home at Stephensport t WAS BORN IN GERMANY IN 431 a JB C DieoKman one of the countya best known and most prominent business men died Friday night at 11 oolook at his home In Stepheosport after au illness extending through several months He had been in yyidly failing health for sometime j and death was due to a general letting down of his system Mr DIeckman was born in Ger many in 1843 Ii e immigrated to I this country and settled in Canada JiBe then resided in Illinois Iowa and n Kansas when he came to Breoken ridge county and settled on a farm about five miles from Stephensport rThis was about 1890 and about two v or three years ago he took up his real dence in tftephensport He owned the i flour mill at Stephensport which was operated by his sons daring his illness He was a popular business man a good citizen and a member of h the M E church South The funeral was conducted from the Stephensport Methodist church Monday morning at 11 oclock by Rev J O Hoskmson and the interment was I in the Stephenport cemetery Two sisters one in Indianapolis Ind and one in Pekin Ill his r4wife apd nine children survive Mr Sons of Owensboro D Stewart Millers Sons took possession of the mines last Thursday They will operate them under ths name of the Fenley Coal company D Stewnrt Miller is an experienced coal operator and has leases on coal lands in several sections of Hancock county which he intends to develop He has also been an arbitrator in this district of the State between the miners and operators The new
