Ticket Can Win For Republicans Thinks J R Eskridge Mr Jesse R Eskridge who has been at hit home in Hardinsburg for a two weeks visit was asked be fore leaving for Owensboro if he would accept a place on the Repub lican county ticket neAt year In reply he gave out this statement for publicationThere is only one county office that offers any inducement to me 1 refer to tnat of county attorney I would have to resign my position in the internal revenue service to make the race which would be a sacrifice yet it the Republicans of my county think my nomination would be to the interest of the party I would accept it aud make the race to win 1 do not thinK a Republican nomination next yaAr will be equiva ent to an election by any means I believe on the other hand it would mean a hard fight against an enemy already intrenched in office and back ed by a fine organization effected by Dr Milton Board whose political prowess I am glad to know has been recognized in a handsome way by his party But with a good organization and the exercise of good judgment in the selection of a ticket I believe the Republicans of my county can win PICKED UP Mr John Biedenkoff banker farmer and leading It seemed a formidable array First rodoI Talpak with Harvey and Orskoff mounted on fresh horses After them rode a hundred men divided In bands of twentyfive each under a captain Then came another hundred under Domltan these being divided the same wayHarvey had never experienced so dif ficult a ride At times they seemed on the verge of going over a cliff and hurling themselves a hundred feet or more to certain death but the rugged little horses seemed to know every Inch of the way and found stepping places where a man could not as they wound around the perpendicular scarps of mountains I wouldnt like to do this for a liv ing said Harvey I prefer to sell windmills This Is real mountaineering an sworod Orskoff But their eyes did not meet as they spoke fair Harvey who was ahead did not dare to turn his headIn crossing table lands they traveled In sections and Domltan often came up and spoke to Palpak lIe had lost none of his surliness Harvey could not understand why Palpal so easily for gave the titan who wanted to kill him Orskoff explained that he had talked with the captains and learned that Domltan was much admired for his many exhibitions of bravery- It Is a good thing for mouth and arms stretched out in an appeal for mercy and the blood was beginning to flow from his side When this pictures disagreement with Shakespeares text was pointed out to the young Australian he TUBES Act Sec The Wheat Bulletin The A S of E wheat bulletin or the 1001 crop was sent out July 33th f On that day speculative September new wheat sold for 88a Cash new wheat OOo and cash old wheat 102 on the Chicago market At this writing August ICth 21 days later September wheat sold for 1 02Ji a rise of 10 cents a bushel It matters not whether the A S r of E Is responsible for the rise 10 wheat or not If its system of crop reporting gives it a knowledgH of the condition of the crop and if it give Information about prices and value so members mn hold their crops foi the rise it is doing Incalculable Ilood to farmers We admit that the deterioration of the spring wheat crop has had ai effect on the market But this condition only hastens wnat was bound to come even though the Northwea raised a full average orop If the damnge to the spring wheat crop IS very great it means even a hlghe price than the A S of E set Our advices indicate that the worst has not been told and we predict the full damage will not dawn on the people until threshing is under way At this time we want to refer tt the liberal marketing of wheat after harvest It has been from 50 to 100 per cent more than last season at the same time This was because farmer had not heard of tne higher price set and thought 1 was the price The crop this year is much less thin last year yet the marketing has been much larger Does this not provf that farmers did hold their wheat last year Does it not prove that tarmers need a price set as a guide If al farmers had got the A S of E but letins prcmptlv it would have made i a hundred million dollars for them UpToDate Farming Annual A S E Meeting It has been decided to hold the annual meeting for election of officers t transaction of business for ther randr Society
