the churge of receiving embezzled funds from A B Schlitzbaum agent of the of Illinois Central Railroad Company brought in a verdict of not guilty the this afternoon Immediately sifter the virllct was announced JudgelBltkhead ordered the prisoner to be given his llbtrty Boatner immediately walued out of the court house a free man of after having been confined in tae Hartford jail for nearly two years The history of the case is rather by complicated In August 1103 Boat ner shipped a package alleged to contain 28000 from Owensboro to Fords VI lie through the American Express Company The distance was short Boatner took the same train for Fords the ville AB Schlitzbaum was agent tor the Illinoiu Central and American 4pr Express Companies at Fordsville Ho Mr claimed he was held up and robbed on of the package that night He was arrested at Falls of Rough next morning but gave Boatner about g8o in money alleged to belong to the llinois Central Railroad Company Boatner was arrested next day at Irvington Both men were lodged in jail and charges of attempt to defraud for the express company out of 38000 were made Both men were cleared lbe of these charges Schlltzbnum was later tried on the charge of embezzling funds of the railroad company and given one year in the penitentiary The last trial of Boatner was on the charge of receiving these funds Boatner now has a SUIt Breckenridge county met in mass convention at Hnrdlnsbarg last Saturday There was a fairly good attendance of rep resentative Democrats from till over the county Chairman Moore called the conven tion to order and stated the object of the meeting Gen D R Murray was elected chairman and Joel H Pile secretary On motion of Thos J Moore the chairman apoointed a committee of five to select delegates and report resolutionsThe named the following Frank Rupert John Jennings Jesse Whitworth Ruins St Clair and Judge MercerJudge Mercer could net endorse the cut and ariel resolution presented the committee success of our county man Dr Milton Board and we feel that he has reflected credit on his native county an i do endorse him for reelection as a member of the Democratic State Central Committee from Show building when the district delegates to the National Convention and the members of the State Con vention committees will be chosen The State convention will be called to order in the Horse Show building this afternoon at 2 oclock It is the general opinion that the four delegates from the Stateatlurge to the National Convention at St Louis July 6 to be chosen by the State convention will be nomination for President this year This is the opinion of Mr Hearsts friends as well as his opponents Since the California Democratic Convention by a narrow margin and after a hard fight adopted resolutions instructing for Hearst there has been very little doing in the Hearst camp Al though he had a respectable following In the Ohio Convention he was un able to muster a majority and hence under the unit rule will lose the die trict delegates who are in favor of his nomination This action following a similar course pnrsued by other States in adopting the unit rule and thus obliging the ifafter allwe are so much ahead of the Britons in enterprise and invention When a woman is on a wheel it is n different thing She is taking the air and exercising her muscles But she is also getting
