11 BEATTY CONVICTED Ollie Beatty the Fordaville photographer was convicted on eight counts charging raising 1 bills to 10 bills and attempting to pass them in the United States District court at Louisville Saturday TICwill be remembered that Beatty was arrested several months ago as ho steppei from a Henderson Route train at the Union Depot in Louis ville and when searched was found to have fire bills which had been raised Later when Beattys photo graphing establishment at Fords vi lie was searched the instruments dyes and materials for raising the bills were found Beatty dented the charges against and said that someone had slipped the bills into ins pocket Sentence was not passed on Beatty Saturday bv Judge Evans and f lie was taken to jail ALEX HENDRY DEAD Union Star Ky March 22 Spe cial Alex Hendry of Raymond n much respected citizen of that place who is well known here died at his homo Saturday night of heart failure after a very Brief Illness Mr Hen dry had been a member of the Baptist church for a number of years Mr and Mrs Q A Hendry of West Point came down Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr Hendrys father which was hold at Ray moud Monday Several ofther About 1 oclock Tuesday morning certain intoxicants began to flow freely and knives and razors were soon playing tunes on tae atmos phere Jowells while trying to quiet the crowd drew a pistol antI shot Jeff Wells who had out a Knife just below the mart After the shrt was firea Wells left the dance hall and ran Ho fell near Gregory Cos coal office where he was picked up and taken to his home In a precarious condition iesterday morning Mar shal DeHaven arrested Jewells and lcdged him in the city jail Jewell while he had out his pistol accidentnly shot off his mothers thumbAll the parties to the affair and those who saw it were colored and little can be learned from them as to the exact details of the shooting The examining trial of Jewells will proba bly be held today The physician attending
