whoihave not sold hold for better price 3 We ask that there be a person 1 appointed in each sohnol district to report the average and condition of crop 4 We the committee oelieve that that the proper time to set prices Is before any of the crop is sold and we mean to work toward that end i 5 We think that there should te formed a national union We recom mend the American Society of Equity 6 We ask at Hardinsbnrg yesterday against Louis LaMont for the possession of the Murray Roofing Tile Companys plant in this city The plaintiff asks an injunction against LaMent and that he be enjoined from further control of the property Mr Murray is one of the original incorporators and was the general manager of the plant until some time last fall when he was succeeded by Mr LaMont The plant has not been operated owing to some differences among tho stockholders Last year w considerable Rum ot money was spent on the property and it was about in a condition to be operated when some differences arose Mr Murray claims that he has been wrongfully re moved as the general manager and is seeking to be reiostated so that he can put the plant in operation The other stockholders live in West Vir to the Administration at Washington that shows the possession of a very distinct and intelligent idea of his duty to his country over and above the game of politics He is for in stance ardent and strong for the Panama treaty and canaLlilt is not a question he sayslIof whether the President was too hasty in his recog nition of the new Republic of Panama I may subscribe to sober criticism of that act but now we have to deal with conditions That is permissI- ble The President had a condition to deal with too The Panama matter might have come tohim under better circumstances but as It came it had to be dealt withand arguments about the conditions he met are futile Mr Smith is also for a navy strong enough for protection and opposes the Democratic political obstructionists in their plan of disregarding obliga tions to complete the ships under con tract In these respects he occupies a position corresponding to that of Senator McCreary who also voted to ratify the treaty with Panama instead of holding np the interests of the country as Senator Blackburn did merely to advance political maneu versIn so voting and speaking Senator McCreary and Mr Smith set an example to the rest of the Kentucky delegation that might well be imitated The acts of public men that most rec ommend them to their constituencies are constructive and not obstructive The records of Kentucky Congressmen Hardinsburg Ky Mar 1Spe- clalMr Joseph A DeJarnette one of the most prominout farmers of the county died at his home near Jolly Station Saturday morning The funeral services were conducted Sun day at Corinth the Baptist church of which he had been nn native mem ber for nearly thirty years The Rev W H Fitzgerald of Louisville pastor of the Hardinsburg Baptist church officiated at the funeral A wife and eight children are left to mourn tho loss of husband and father He was a brother of Chas R DeJarnette Stewart who n a i former ly sheriff of the county W S and M C and Mrs Judith A Ball The immediate cause of his d3ath was pneumonia He served on the petit jury during the list term of court He returned home on Friday and WitS seized with the illness which caused his death He was of one of formerly of this city died Thursday at the Old Sold- Iers Home at Marion Ind of which he had been an inmate for several years Mr Shonse came to this city In the early seventies Several years ago he suffered a stroke of partialI paralysis and soon after went to the Old Soldiers Home as he served in the Union army during the Ciafl War The death of Mr Shouse was re ceived in this city with genuine regret He was well known here and had many friends who remembered him as a kindhearted and honest manHe was a man who probably had not n single enemy While his health permitted he worked at his trade
