of states In which he says tuberculosis exists Among the quarantined states is our own beloved KentuckyGov is however only adopt Inc a precautionary measure which ia now In existence In many States Tu berculosis exists among cattle in almost every part of the State It Is a very common disease and is verv dangerous both to cattle and to persons conoumlnu the milk A number of cattle have been ordered killed this spring because of the inroads made by the disease and Dr F T Einenman the State Veterlnaian said last night that the proclamation is sued by Gov Stephens would cost the State a great deal of money but that it would awaken the Legislature to Its duty He sail that the State Board of Health had asked the Legislature to make an appropriation for the exprifs purpose of waging war against the disease and he thought that a sum of money would be appropriated at the next session He said that it would not cost a great deal ot money to inoculate the cattle of the State if the work were carried on systematically but that it would be necessary to employ an expert enced man to administer the tubercn lineNew York and other States paid Dr Eisenman appropriated large sums ot money each year for the purpose of examining cattle and that only 5000 was appropriated for the State Board of Health to do all of its work Kentucky cattle will not be accepted in other States unless they are properly and thoroughly tested for traces of tuberculosis by a cmpetent man and until this is done the State will suffer he said Dr Elsen man said that he had ordered several cows killed this spring
