properly conducted it would benefit the young men of Cloverport morally mentally and physically If it were owned by the city which it should be it would be a source of reve nue to the city treasury which would be very acceptable just at present- It should be a two etory building with the second story to be made into office rooms a Y M 0 A reading room and gymnasium and a public ball room No doubt there will be some who will object toan opera bouse from a moral standpoint but there ia no more harm in a good moral opera than there is in good literature It is often the case that a young man spends his earnings in amusements not half so beneficial There is just as much difference in a moral entertainment and a Buck ingham show as there is between a five cent Nick Carter and Shakespeare One is elevating while the other Is demoral izing The citizens will readily realize the benefit of a Y M C A reading room There can be nothing more elevating to a young mans mind that the perusal of good books A g mnasium would be a source of innocent amusement and of great physical benefit The money for this enterprise should be raised by subscription Tickets rang ing from one dollar to ten dollars should be sold each ticket entitling the pur chaser to a seat at the firs entertain ment or at any one afterwards When 506 of the required amount is subscrib ed the bouse should be built Then barrow the other 50 and let the receipts liquidate the debt Each merchant could afford to buy s0 00 worth of tickets andfeive a ticket with a certain amount of goods purchased from him thereby helping the gausp and him elf loo The churches and schools should be granted the privilege of using the opera house for their entertainments Wo would then have a place for public meetings of all kinds where eyerybody would be comfortable and the city would be benefited at the same time If anyone has a scheme that is thought to be more practicable than this let us have it Councilmen from the 3rd ward- 1I 2 THE BRECKENRIDGE NEWS WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31 1900 4 =4 PLANTS OUT OF PLACE Some Sound Sentiments Regarding Weeds Voiced by the Sage of Rural Neck WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW TO DISPOSE OF THEM Oy the Hon Wm Cook In the Bowling Green News The following paper WAS prepared and read Wore the recent Farmers Institute by Hon Vm Fish Cook whom we all loye to call the Sage of Rural Neck Somhoty IIItllkll me to write eomethitiK fr H Ji thInK about weeds for this mo i Weeds are like bad habits or bad cvin any or bad thoughts plentiful and ceutily found but not eas fly overcome and destroyed Weeds are the curse of the material world just as sin Is tho curse of the moral world It is strange that weeds should grow BO easy and so plentiful just by themselvts and corn should be so hard to raise by plant Ing and work In this world the fact Is the Rood and useful cn onlj be secured by brain work hard work and muscle work There once certainly was a better time and condition of things on this earth than exist nowadays There Is a remnant of signs nnd of fact that man was once better than he is now and that the earth the mother of the living was purer and more fruitful of good than atpresentIt and feels as if the fruits of the garden have degenerated and the sweet apples turned to sour ones the wheat turned to cheat and the timothy turned to crab grass The great big question If how to get back to original conditions and principles Man In all his work and wisdom has failed and left timings in just as bad a fix as be found them Something like two thousand years ago a strange man appeared on earth in a strange man ner and under strange conditions When in full manhood ho talked strangely andI did strange things that confounded the wise and has made the moral world cleaner and better from that good day to this but as far as we know has not made one weed less in the field or garden or one sour grape a sweet one To speak of weeds more definitely I have not time or space As good defini tion as I have ever Been of a weed is this A plant out of place This would Indicate that most anything how ever useful in its place becomes an evil out of Its place and many things that may be called bad in one place if they were in a different place would be accepted as good and useful I have seen it written and I believe it true that weeds as a rule are a benefit and not a curse under certain conditions and cir cumstances To make crops grow and make bread and a worlds living the soil must be tilled by plow and barrow and hoe This appears to be as neces sary as tho winds blow in the tree tops or the frosts bite to make the harvest ripe I heard an expert bee culturist say that bee moths were a blessing to the intelligent beekeeper and not an evil because these moths would make the beekeeper keep his hives filled with bees so that there would be no room or place for the moth I know the man who said that told the truth And so it is if you hayo a hill of corn or potatoes growing a weed cant grow in the same hill It is said and I expect it is true that every year the weeds eat up onethird of the plant food In the soil of our fields and orchards and uardenp And what does all this amount to 7 It is robblnit millions of mouths of bread Show me the farm overran with weeds and briars and the fence rows hid with briars anti brush and I will show you a farm with a lean crib and a lean smoke house and a mortgage in the clerks office Neglect your schools and churches and moral family control and moral darkness and weeds the soul despoiler will soon have dominion Neglect the farm and soon the weeds and the wild sprouts and the worthless grasses will take possession and plunder your fields and starve your fam- Ily The stern fact is all the good we get in this world we hays to work for the bad comes to us without work either in the moral or material world Let me say now and in conclusion Permit less weeds to grow in your fields and gardens and orchards and you will raise more crope more fruits and more vegetables What are weeds and how to kill them opens up a big field Accept it as a fact that a plant out of place is a weed whether It la a third stalk in a corn hill or a cockleburr In the row digit up cut it off or plow it out Dad weeds bad insects and bad farming is bringing a power of trouble on our country It is hoped by our best and wisest men that better days are dawning Weeds wherever water flows and t trees grow on the face of the earth exist Weeds are natural and inherit the earth while corn is unnatural and must be teuitlvated TIle natural rule is that wrongs prevail and the right must be k worked for The question now to be considered Is how to kill weeds to prevent them from killing or crippling use ful crops Anything that Is growing in your cultivated lands or pastures that you dont want you may count it ri weed and a wild persimmon or a sassafras sprout you may count in for it is bad and of longer irowth The way to kill weeds and sprouts or briars is to do just as you do to kill any thing else Strike it in its most vital part The way I kill und have klllcfel1 persimmon and sassafras and other sprouts as well as briars is to keep them cut up If you want to kill perennial growth of weeds or wood dig them up or cut them off luring tho latter part of time growing season say about the mid die of August not giving them time to make any more growth that season If you cau keep these undesirable growths from growing sixty or seventy days during the growing season they will go dead for good We have more annual weeds than any other kind such as keerless smartweeds cockleburr Spanishneedle crib grass and a hun dred arid one other growths not forget ting thu morning glory These all can be kept down and finally destroyed by close and constant cultivation This matter of keeping weeds down anti destroying them on the farm or any where else Is all a question of work and some common sense mixed with the work Tho man who tries always does The fcrm that is overrun with brush briars and weeds and produces only a scant crop of useful products should have another waster and the Incumbent should go to town to educate tile children and drink his share of wills key Old People Made Young J 0 Sherman the veteran editor of the Vermontyille Mich Echo has discovered the remarkable wcret of keeping old people young For years tobacco for ox port or plug Is a very simple matter A heavy rank growth is wanted and pi uty of nitrogenous manures answer time pur pose For cigar and smoking tobacco a very dlllerent plan must be followed In the first plate the toll should bb as clean as possible and fall plowed unless the soil is so light that winter washing is feared If a clovercrop can be turned under in the fall the organic matter will bb sufficiently rotted for good tobacco the following year and the nitrogen ac cumulated by the clover will ho used to good advantage Tobacco manures have a marked influ ence on the quality of the crop Nitrate of soda is a good form of nitrogen arid acid phosphate is a satisfactory form of phosphate For potash those forms whichcontain no chloride should be used such es dangerof injury from this cause All the fertilizers except the ni trate may be applied the previous fall without danger of loss unless the soil is very light in which case the fertlltzsr must be sulphate of potash and 200 pounds of 12 per cent acid phosphate A large proportion of the nitrogen may be obtained through the use of crimson clover or even cowpeas but the potash and phos phate must be applied to every crop All fertilizer for tobacco must have a high degree of availability as the plant has little power of foraging through the soil for food Its roots are thick and fleshy and there is a lack of fine fibrous feeding roots so common in grain crops While it is very Important to have an ample supply of fertilizer it must be well balanced A great excess of nitrogen will cause a too rank growth making a thick leaf unsuitable for smoking or cigar tobacco Similarly a great excess of phosphoric aCd will force an early maturity causing woodiness of leaf as well as a diminished crop Limestone soils should have the potash applied in the form of double carbonate of potash magnesia as it is claimed that bad burning qualities are caused by limo salts in the leaf A crop of cowpeas heavily manured with fertilizer material is a good advance crop but it must be turned under early in the fall and crossplowed early in the spring By this method any form of potash fait may be used recent celebration of Jacksons Day recalls interesting events in the life of that fiery young Tenne fan who left the impress of his strong nature upon the affairs of this nation An affair of the heart was the powerful factor in Andrew Jacksons life the results of which had more influence than any other one thing in shaping his history and was indirectly the cause of his deathLove affairs are always Interesting Even the most commonplace wooing of the most commonplace people possesses IkllJbutheart history of our truly great ones we are ippresscd with the thought that the deeper the life the broader and more engrossing lIs the affection The love of Andrew Jackson was cen tered upon Rachel Robards the pretty dark eyed wife of a cruel and suspicious man Under the Virginia law a divorce could only be procured with the sanction ot a special act of the legislature which was petitioned for by Lewis Robards in 1700 The bill was passed authorizing him to sue for a divorce This was only a preliminary to the diyorce but was strongly considered by the interested parties as final Jackson though a law yer himself seemed to have labored un der the same mistake as lis evidenced by his marriage to Mrs Rubards in 1701 It was not until two years later that Jackson became convinced that he was not legally married to his wife where upon he lost no time in having a second ceremony performed While neither he nor his wife seem to have lost any social prestige by their error they were both extremely sensi tive on the subject It is said of Jack sons feeling about the matter that for the man ho dared breathe his wifes name except in honor he kept pistols in yearsAlmostin the life of Old Hickory was caused in directly by real or supposed allusions to hja marriage He seems to have been supersensitive on the subject and his great and tender love for his wife caused him to be over zealous in guarding her good name The duel with Dickinson which took place at Harrisons Mill Logan county in 1800 was due indirectly to the same cause In this encounter Dickinson was fatally shot and Jackson received a wound which in after years opened internally and hastened his death in 1845 Even the enemies of Mrs Jackson agree that she was ever a true and lov ing wife to Jackson The worst that could be eald of her was that she never outgrew the effects of her early surrounding While her husband was develop ing from a rollicking fighting back woods lawyer into an accomplished Eol dler l+ nd popular statesman she was changing from a pretty country girl Into a commonplace kindhearted matron without any of the graces that compen sate for the loss of youth and beauty Her ambitions was bounded by the limits of the Hermitage Farm and her consolation in grief and her companion in joy was pipeHappily Jackson seemed not to realize that his wife had lost any of her youth ful charms and while she was the cause of his bitterest hour she was also the source of all his happiness and as such was dearly prized J B Clark Peoria I1IJ says But forI1esbutHazel SalveJ It is infallible for piles counterfeltsA w tt Y j iJ A SMALL SPOT MAY BE CANCER MOST VIOLENT CASES HAVE It and fight It regardless of results It Is too firmly established It linn Its clutch on busl ness the municipal life and even the church Itself It Is n fact that tbo churches In Milton have been afraid to take the right stand In this matter Members of the churches have become Involved In the terrible entanglement of the long established rum power un til today you witness a condition of affairs whIch ought to stir the righteous Indignation of every citizen and father What Is It you are enduring An Institution which blasts wltb Its poisonous breath every soul that en ters It which ruins young manhood which kills more citizens In times of peace than the most bloody war ever Blow In times of revolution an Institu tion tbat Is established tor the open and declared purpose of getting money from tbe people by the sale of stuff that creates criminals an Institution that robs the honest workingman of his savings and looks with Indifference on the tears of till wife the sobs of the mother an Institution that never gives one cent of Its enormous wealth to build churches colleges or homes for the niHHly an Institution that has the brand of time murderer the harlot the gambler burned Into It with a brand of the devils own forging In the furnace of his hottest hell This Institu tion so rules and governs this town of Milton today that honest citizens trem ble before It business men dare not op pose It for fear of losing money church members fawn before It In order to gain placo In politics and ministers of the gospel confront Its hideous Influ ence and my nothing It Is high time we faced thin munster of Iniquity and drove It out of the stronghold It has occupied NO long I wish you could have gone with me this past week und witnessed some of the sights I have seen Not I retract that statement I would not wish that any rather or mother had bad theI heartache that I have felt as I con templated the ruins of young lives crumbling Into the decay of premature debility mocking ttine manhood that God gave them In the Intoxicating curse of debauchery What have 1 seen 0 ye fathers 0 yo mothers Do you know what Is going on In this place of CO saloons licensed by your own act and made legal by your own will You uiiidiuii and you sir who have covenanted together In the fel lowshlp anti dlselplusblp of time purest Institution of Cal on earth who IlaeIsat here have anyI bold on them They are growing up to disregard the duties of good citizen Bhlp They are walking down the broad avenue of destruction and what is this town doing to prevent It 1 have seen young tutu from what are called the best homes In this town reel In and out of glided temples of evil oaths on their lips and passion In their looks and tin cry of my soul has gone up to Almighty Got that time church and the homo might combine their mighty force to drive the whisky de mon out of our municipal life so that vre might feel the curse of It again never more I upcak to you today In the name of my Lord nail Muster It Is Impossible for me to believe that If that Christ of God were standing here this morning IIP woudndvlso the licensing of this corruption as the most feasible or expedient method of dealing with It I cannot Imagine him using time argument that time saloon must be licensed for the revenue tint may bo gained from It to support the school system 1 cannot Imagine Christ taking any other position before the whisky power than that of uncompromising condem radon IIo would nay It was evil and only evil and therefore to be opposed by every legal and moral restriction that society could rear against It In I his name speaking as I believe bo would speak If he were hero this mo ment I solemnly declare the necessity on the part of every disciple of Christ In every church In Mlltou of placing him self decidedly and persistently and at once In open battle against the saloon until It Is destroyed until Its power In business politics mind society Is a thing of the past until we have rid ourselves of the foul viper which has so many years trailed Its slimy folds through our homes and our schools Citizens Christians church members I call on you today to take up arms against the common foe of that wo hold dear In church homo and state I know there arc honest busl ness men who have long writhed In se cret at the Ignominy of the halter about their necks by which they have been led There are citizens who have the best Interests of tbe community at heart who have lung their heads In shame of American politics seeing this brutal whisky clement dictating the government of tho towns and parcel- Ing out their patronage anti managing their funds and enormous stealings of the peoples money I know there are church members who have felt In their hearts the deep shame of bowing the knew to this rum sod In order to wake uuvuucemcnt in political me Ana i call on all these today to rise with me and begin a fight against the entire saloon business and whisky rulo In Milton until by the help of the Lord of Hosts wo have got us time victory Men women brothers sisters In the great family of God on earth will you sit tamely down and worship the great beast of this country Will you not rather gird your swords upon your thighs and go out to battle against this blasphemous Philistine who has defied the armies of the living God I have spoken my message Let us ask the wisdom and power of the Divine to help us- Philips prayer was almost painful In Its Intensity of feeling and expression The audience sat In deathly silence and when he pronounced tho amen of the benediction It was several mo ments before any one stirred to leave the church Philip went homo completely ex hausted He hind put Into his sermon all of himself and had called up oil his reserve power a thing he was not of ten guilty of doing and for which he condemned himself on this occasion But It was past and ho could not recall It He was not concerned as to the results of his sermon lie had long believed that If he spoke the mes sage God gave him he was not to grow anxious over the outcome of It lint the people of Milton were deeply stirred by time address They were not In the habit of hearing that kind of preaching And what was more the whisky element was roused It was not In the habit of having Its authority attacked In that bold almost savage manner For years Its sway had been undisturbed It had Insolently established Itself In power until oven those citizens who knew Its thoroughly evil character were deceived Into the belief that nothing better than licensing It was possible The Idea that the saloon could be banished removed driven out altogether hail never before been ad vocated In Milton The conviction that whether It could be It ought to be suppressed had never gained ground with any number of people They had en dured It as a necessary evil Philips sermon therefore fell something like a bomb Into the whisky camp Before night the report of tho sermon had spread all over the town The saloon men were enraged Ordinarily they would have paid no attention to any thing a church or a preacher might say or do Itut Philip spoke from the pul pit of time largest church In Milton The whisky men knew that If tho large churches should all unite to fight them they would make It very uncomforta ble for them and In time cud probably drive them out Philip went homo tbat Sunday night after time evening service with several bitter enemies The whisky men contributed one clement Some Tile time Philip cll- of his own church members made up another lie had struck again at the same sore spot which he had wounded the month before In his attack on time saloon as an Institution ho had again icccssarlly condemned all those members of his church who rented property to tbe whisky element Again as a month ago these property holders went from the hearing of tho sermon angry that they as well as the saloon power were under Indictment- As Philip entered on the weeks work after that eventful sermon be began to feelI the pressure of public fee- Ing against him no began to realize the bitterness of championing a just cause alone He felt time burden of the communitys sin In tho matter and moro than once ho felt obliged to come In from his parish work and go up Into his study there to commune with hla Father He was growing old very fast In thcua first few weeks In his new parishTuesday evening of that week Philip had been writing a little while In his study where ho had gone Immediately after supper It was nearly 8 oclock when bo happened to remem ber that ho had promised a sick child In tho home of ono of his parishioners that he would como and see him that very day He came down stairs put on hIs hat and overcoat and told his wife where bewas going tvs not tar i smut ue DUCK In about half an hour SaVah- Ho went out and his wife held the door open until ho was down the steps She was just on the point of shutting the door as ho started down the side walk when a sharp report rang out close by She screamed and flung tho door open again as by thctilgbt of the Street lamp she saw Philip stagger and then leap Into the street toward an elm tree which grew almost opposite the parsonage When he was about In the middle of the street she was horrified to see a man step out boldly from be hind the tree raise a gun and deliberately fire at Philip again This time Philip fell and did not rise Ills tall form lay where the rays of the street lamp shono on It and be hind fallen so that as his arms stretched out there he made the flgurp of a huge and pros trate cross CHAPTER V- As people waked up In Milton the Wednesday morning after the shoot Ing of Philip Strong they grew con scious of tIle fact as the news came to their knowledge that they hall been nursing for 50 years one of the most brutal and cowardly Institutions on earth and licensing It to do the very thing which at last It had done For the time being Milton suffered a genu- Ine shock Long pent up feeling against the whisky power burst out and public sentiment for once condemned the source of the cowardly attempt to mur derVarious rumors were lying about It was said that Mr Strong bad been stabbed In the back while out making parish calls In company with his wife and tint she hall been wounded by a pistol shot herself It was also said that he had beet shot through the heart and Instantly killed nut all these confused reports were finally set nt rest when those calling at time parsonage brought away tho exact truthIThe first shot fired by the man from behind the tree struck Philip In tho knee but the ball glanced off Ho felt the blow and staggered but his next Impulse was to rush In time direction of the sound and disarm his assailant That was tho reason lie bad leaped Into the street But the second shot was better aimed and the bullet crashed In to his upper arm and shoulder shatter ing the bone and producing an exceed- Ingly painful though not fatal wound The shock caused Philip to fall and he fainted away but not before the face of tho man who had shot him was clearly stamped on his mind He knew that he was one of the saloon proprle tors whose establishment Philip Lad visited the week before He Was a man with a harelip and there was no mistaking his countenance When the people of Milton learned that Philip was not fatally wounded their excitement cooled a little Aware of Indignation however swept over the town when It was learned thatIthe would bo murderer was reco by the minister and It was that he had openlyI threatened rumoredI would fix the cursed preacher he would not be able to preach Philip however felt mare full of fight against the rum devil than ever As be lay on time bed the morning after the shooting ho had nothing to regret or fear Time surgeon hind been called at once as soon as his wife and tho alarmed neighbors had been able to carry him Into the parsonage The ball had been removed and tho wounds dressed By noon be lad recovered somewhat from the effects of tbo op oration and was resting although very weak from the shock and suffering considerable paten Whnt Is that stain on the floor Sarah V he asked as bis wife camo In with some article for his comfort Philip lay whcro ho could see Into tho other room It Is your blood Philip replied his wife with a shudder It dripped like a stream from your shoulder as wo carried you In last night Oh Philip It Is dreadful It seems to me like an awful nlfihtmnro Lot us move away u MANY from this terrible place You Will be killed If wo stay here There Isnt much danger If the rest of em nro as poor shots as this fellow replied Philip Now little woman he went on cheerfully tlont worry I dont believe theyll try IIt againMrs Strong controlled herself She did not want to break down while Philip was In his present condition You must not talk she said as she smoothed his hair back from tho pale foreheadThats pretty hard on a preacher dont you think Sarah My occupation Is gone If I cant talk1 Then Ill talk for two They say that most women can do that Will you preach for mo next Sun dayWhat and make myself a target for saloon keepers No thank you I have half n mind to forbid you ever preach Ing again It will bo the death of youIt Is the life of me Sarah 1 would not ask anything better than to die with the armor on fighting evil Well all right I wont talk any more 1 suppose theres no objection to my thinking n little- Thinking Is the worst thing you can do You Just want to lie there nnd do nothing but get well AH right Ill quit every tulnj except eating and sleeping Put up a lit tie placard on the bend of the bed say lug Biggest curiosity In Milton A live minister who has stopped think lag and talking Admission 10 cents I Proceeds to be devoted to teach saloon keepers how to shoot straight PhilipI was still somewhat under tho Influence of the doctors anaesthetic and as he faintly murmured this ab surd sentence be fell Into a slumber which lasted several hours from which he awoke very feeble and realizing that foe would be confined to tbe house some time but feeling In good spirits and thankful out of the depths of his vigorous nature that be was still spared to do Gods will on earth The next tiny be felt strong enough to receive a few visitors Among them was the chief of police who came to inquire concerning tho Identity of the man who had done time shooting Phil Ip showed some reluctance to witness against his enemy It was only when bo remembered that bo owed a duty to society as well as to himself that bo described the man and related minute ly the entire affair exactly as It oc curredIs tho man In town asked Philip Has ho not fled I think I know where ho Is re plied the officer lies In hiding but I can find him In fact we have been hunting for him since time shooting Ho Is wanted on several other chargesPhilip was pondering something In silence At last he said When you have arrested him I wish you would bring him here If It can bo done without violating any or dinance or statute The ofllccr stared at the request and tho ministers wife exclaimed Philip you will not have that man come Into the mouse Besides you ore not well enough to endure a meeting with time wretchSarah I 1 have a good reason for It Really I am well enough You will bring him wont you I do not wish to make any mistake In the matter Before tho man Is really confined un der a criminal charge of attempt to murder I would like to confront him here There can be no objection to that can there The officer finally promised that the could do so without attracting too much attention he would comply with time request It was a thing ho had never done before Ho was not quite easy in his mind about it Neverthe less Philip exercised a winning Influ once over all sorts and conditions of men and he felt quite sure that If the nflJror cnnld arrest his man aulctly ho CONTINUED young women are completely shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in Ills wings What the material sun in our uni versa does for this earth of ours typifies the work of the Sun ol KigiiteousntBS When plants and lives are hidden from Ita beams we see eickliness disease unctennnees unwholc- someness and all the fruits ol darkness The Sun of Righteousness alone makes health ulvigorous strong beautiful lives His presence alone counteracis the deadly miasma of Satan the prince of this tvorld tbe usurper who shallyet be dispossessed bv the power of God But in the heathen lands of today he is the one who Is wor shipped this prince of darknes who brought sin into our world and all our woe His reign is supreme over the many many millions where the beams of the Sun of Righteousness have never shone Confucianism llrahmanlem Taor lam Mohammedanism and the various systems of idolatry practised in the islands of the sea Romanism with its knowledge of the one God perverting the truth in baying its adherents worship a woman who though pure and blessed cannot mjjijt the fallen and when they bow dcjtfh to her and worship her they only add sin to sin in that we know there is only one mediator between God and man the man Christ Jesus who said to Satan Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve I say these various beliefs without foundation in the Word of God hold the millions to day in abject bondage to eh while a few of us know the truth which alone makes free If you have ever stood in a broad coun try place where you could see in al directions the round sky shutting down about the round world in a semicloudy day you might have seen some portions of the landscape smiling in sunlight while others were bathed in shadows The sun was there above the earth but in some parts of the landscape his rays were hid den by clouds Jn other clear spaces his beams could fall and shine away the gloom and cold The Sun of Risbteon ness shines above all this world and some places are in the light and some are in the shadow Jeaus is there doing His part but clouds of in difference and neglect and selfishness and ayarice on the part of the ones who know the cause of their light and life and heat rise from us and it is all dark in heathen lands We leave them in the shadows not even asking ourselves Are Iwe our brothers keepers Not even from the heart praying Thy kingdom come- T will be done in earth as it is in heaven for the heart reachet below the pocketbook The prayer comes from the lips only and rises not above our heads and our unlove and our unbelief and our careless hearts and lives form the clouds that hide the Sun of Righteousness from His creatures and 100000 of them every day pass away in heathen darkness and gloom and will spend a Christlees eternity with those of us who care noth llag for the Light of the World Ii it America we love or Jesus Pat n says hW country Is the one whose darkness Is deepest The Master said I am the light of the world Another are removed and that we shine out the light He gives within illumining the heathen gloom Let us lift up Jesus to His creatures who are bowing down to handmade gods Man must worship some thing must pray to some one It ia in him so to do Let na tell them of the Savior from sin Put Him In place of gold of Satan of self In every little town in America you find churches elbowing each other See
