the district court bench in Indiana Judge Gresham told a young man convicted of a crime and about to be sent to the penitentiarythathe might go home for three days to say goodbye to his father who was in his last illness The young man was allowed to go with- Â¬ out a guard on his promise to return to bo sent to the penitentiary This turned out to have its comical side At the end of the three days the young man return- Â¬ ed to Judge Grcsham8omowhat Hurried and indignant He had not understood the judge and instead of coming straight back from his fathers house ho had gone straight to the
