in- Â¬ stitute request the State Board of Edu- Â¬ cation to make such recommendations to tho next General Assembly of Kentucky as will make the salary of tho teachers of each county uniform in each grade throughout tho State llemlved That it is the duty of eacli member of the Institute or Association to do the work so assigned him or her and any one failing to try to do tho work assigned will bo regarded as not in love with the profession and the Superin- Â¬ tendent should keep a record of tho names of such members open for inspection by all trustees in search of teachers This was voted on and adopted by tho Institute A motion to pay the Secretary ten dollars was carried In view of tho fact that tho term of Ex Supt Jos W Miller and Richard Adkisson has just expired wo take this opportunity of expressing our hearty approval and deep appreciation of tho able and conscientious manner in which they discharged their duties as officers and further more that we feel a deep interest our instructor Prof J II B Logan a man of scholarly attainments good aspirations and thorough consecration to school work and furthermore that his work in this Institute has been both practical and effectual and will prove a benefit to tho professional training and general im Â¬ provement of the teacher Second That wo appreciate the efficient manner in which tlio secretary and other officers of the Instittue have dis Â¬ charged their respective duties Third That we wish to publicly ex press our appreciation for the very ablo and instructive lecturo delivered before the Institute by Jas A Allen and that we recognize in him a young man of liberal education and admire tlio spirit m which he urges his fellow teachers to at Â¬ tain tho fnmo high standard Fourth That wo wish to extend our standard silver dollars coined irom the bullion purchased under the act of July 1 18K liavo been paid out in the redemption of treasury notes and tlio notes so redeem Â¬ ed have been retired and canceled The process is still going on daily Prior to Mr Carlisles connection with tlio de Â¬ partment no silver had been paid out for tlio redemption of such notes and none of such notes had been
