same time and the Marion Falcon pub- Â¬ lished at Lebanon has taken the trouble to examine his record and it gives the following interesting reading matter Since the article charging Mr Murray with absenteeism appeared in tho Mont- Â¬ gomery papers suspicion that someÂ¬ thing detrimental to that gentlemen was on record in tho same books was aroused from the fact that those books bad dis-Â¬ appeared from Lebanon and Bardstown and could not be found A copy was found at Springfield after a diligent search nnd the facts disclosed in refer-Â¬ ence to the absenteeism of Hon A B Montgomery makes the charge as to Mr Murray absolutely ludicrous Tho two Journals show that Montgom- Â¬ ery was a member of the Kentucky Sen- Â¬ ate at the sessions of 1878 80 and that ho was absent in 1878 twenty threo days for which he collected from the Treasury 5 per day and that he was absent from the session of 18S0 twenty four dnyrf for which he drew the same amount per day making 2i which lie drew fordnys ho was absent But the most amusing thing that was disclosed by tho Senate Journal of 1879 80 was on page 87 of that volume Jan- Â¬ uary 5 1880 a resolution was offered by Mr Murray in the Senate to exclude from the floor all except Government officers newspaper reporters etc and Mr Blackburn amended the resolution so as to provido that ladies might occupy the seat of Hon A B Montgomery
