evolution and especially ns to whether matter has existed eternally or was created by God Rev Beattie taking the po sition that all matter was created by God as wo would naturally expect from his profession Of course It naturally occurs to us to then to ask Rev Beatty what was God doing all the time or all the eternity before he erected matter and what made God finally conclude to create matter Of course he cannot glvo an in telligent answer to this question Mow matter could have hall a be ginning or how It could exist not having lied a beginning Is simply an unthinkable proposition
