Quite an Affair in Mercantile World of ?re-Napt- Parnett Todd, a well known young man, of near Carbondale, lost his life Friday as the result of an accident. He and a friend Bert Baker were at work gathering corn in the field of John Flnley Thursday and In a friendly wrestling match Todd was thrown and fell on a corn stubble. The Bharp stubble pierced his Intestines. He was removed to his home as soon as possible and Dr. Finley, of St. CharleB,was called In. Althodgh Todd was suffering excruciating pain it was not thought the end would come so soon and the family decided to Bend him to Madisonville for an operation. The ambulance of Dr. Strothor was sent for him Friday morning but he died before reaching Madlsouville. He was an excellent young man and the entire community Is shooked at his untimely end. He was laid to rest Saturday afternoon at Flat creek surrounded by a large number of friends and acquaintances. Rev. Wallace, of Providence, conducted tho funeral services.
