reorganization of the volunteer fire fighters under Capt Henry Rogers In addition the owners of the water system the St Bernard Mining Co will put in a large new pump at the lake pump Ing station The necceesary cast iron pipe and fire plugs for the new work have already been ordered Readers of The Bee have beenad vised from time to time as to tbe progress of tbe work of improve ment along these lines and know there has been a eripns movement on foot for some two years But this movement Is now really approach ing its goal After the plans had been made for the new town ball building Paul M Moore presented fo the City Council suggestions from an insurance standpoint and urged that the plans be amended so aa to include in the new bSlldlng1 a room for the accommodation of tbe BY fND E JS considera tion to improve our waterworks by the building of a now reservoir or the erection of astandpipe tho lay ing of some new mains etc In conversation with Mr Russell and Mr Ohittenden on train Saturday they informed mo that it would be neO B sary to have a town report made be fore you could undertake the rerat ing of Earlington in any case and that you could perhaps do this now afc a time when It might do us lasting good With this town report it is possibly that we might get tho new work put in so that Earlington could move up Into fourth class and you will probably remember that I both routes in the cave and railroad fare from Earlington td Evansville and return is only 1750 this is realy cheaper than staying at home and in addition to the delightful boat trip of 200 miles the
