May 16 Mrs Belle Coleman a patient horn Bowling Green who was re ceived at thu Western Asylum about ten days ago committed I suicide in a most peculiar manner Great care was taken to remove from her room everything with which she could injure herself She was allowed togo to the bathroom andseized the opportu nity to destroy her life Finding she could not drown herself she turned tho hot water faucet and cIheld her mouth under the scalding stream letting the water rtin into her stomach She was so badly t burned that she died a few hours i laterJust before she was brought to the asylum she
