commanding left Madison ville last Saturday morning and are now in camp at Lexington with the other companies of the State militia Some of the boys are now getting their first taste of soldier life and while of course it is not like being at home the majority of them seem very well contented with their surroundings according to letters written back to pa rents and friends The Madisonvillc boys were CompanyIand at Owcnsboro by Company H Captain Logan Fcland commanding The trip to Lexington was made without any accidents to any of the soldiers of the three Pcnnyrtlc companies mentioned Visitors throng the camps daily and take a great deal of interest in the blue coats Notes The Latham Light Guards of Hopkinsville Felands crack company were presented with a check for rooo by John C Latham of Hopkinsville used in securing such luxuries as it takes to make a soldiers life pleasant complaining overhead by an ex Confederate who made the remark that he fought five days on bullets and young people in tho history and work of their denomina tions That theso things are facts and that they havo been fully appreciated by tho Christian denominations is abundantly testified to by tho fact that there are Christian Endeavor societies in 40 different Christian denominations todayIt impossible to bo a loyal Endcav orer and not to bo loyal to our denomi nations and our local churches The dwellings of Jacob God loves His church with a deep affection with an everlasting lovo Ho loves Zion with a special and distinguishing love not only as compared with tho other nations of tho world bnt oven with other parts of tho Holy Land itself If God love His church so dearly His lovo embracing nil branches of it surely thoso who are Gods should also lovo it and realize its importance Particularly should wi lovo and servo that branch of tho ohuroh in which wo have boon born and raised perhaps or in which at least wo have found Christ and been born into His kingdom 2 Christs lovo
