tabulated vote that appears in this issue It is correct The table that was published in both the Hustler and the Mail on Tuesday bearing the title Official Vote of Hopkins County is anything but official The mistakes that ap pear in one arc exactly the mis takes that appear in the other andI the table is made up principally of mistakes Those papers to econo mize time and labor have printed from the same form this table so full of errors which seems to have been set up in the Mail office The names ot thirtytwo can didates appear in this table The total vote cast in the county for each candidate appears at the end of the table after the statement of the vote for each candidate in each precinct These totals considered in themselves are correct except in one instances The vote for Hankins for Sheriff should be 2673 instead of 2683 This however maybe considered mistake of the can vassing board made in entering the vote of Manitou precinct on their tally sheet or in adding that vote after it was entered If this be the case the vote for Hankins in the Manitou precinct should appear in the table published by the two Madisonville papers 105 instead of 104 The vote in Manitou precinct was as certified by the elecI tion officers 104 to which the canvassing board added one vote but they seem to have added their cipher as a one and made their to tal ten too much There are thirtytwo candidates and thirtytwo totals Only sixI out of the thirty itotaJtip this table are eqiiaTto thesiim of theI votes accredited the candidate in the twentyfour precincts of the county In other words only six out of the thirtytwo lines of fig tires will add up and prove the total This is a little less than 19 percent of correctness and is an amusing instance of what can be done with
