Siuco liberty is bo important nml so much to bo desired, it is of tho greatest importance that wo should havo correct ideas of liberty, that wo should know what is the highest and truest form of liberty and bo anxious to attain to it Thcro aro many falso standards of liberty in the world today. To 6omo liberty means licenso licenso to do ns they pleaso regardless of their obligations to God or to their fellow men. Liberty docs not mean license No man has a right to act as if ho wero tho only person in existence. Our actions must always bo flowed from tho standpoint of our relation to God and to tho others in life about us. Nor aro physical, political and mental forms of liberty tho highest and truest forms. Men aro often frco politically 'and physically and yet slaves. On Tho other hand, men are often slaves politically nnd physically, and yet at the same time are enjoying tho truest liberty. The best and tho truest liberty in tho world is soul liberty liberty from the pausious and lusts of lifo, freedom from tho chains of sin and of unbelief that bind men stronger than ever tho chains of physical slavery bound them. Men often think they nro freo when they aro not. Tho Jews, because- of their descent from Abraham, claimed they wero freemen, boasted of their liberty, yet Christ pointed out to them that they wero in slavery to unbelief and to sin and did not possess tho liberty which IIo alone could givo to them. Sinners often boast of their liberty. Frco thinkers and freo livers, whd placo no limits to thought or life, iningiuo they are tho freest of men; that they enjoy tho highest forms of truo liberty. Tho fact, however, is that it is only tho shadow of liberty. In reality they aro slaves, captives to tho mast degrading beliefs and actions, and know nothing of tho truo liberty which makes a man freo from sin, gives him absoluto power and control over himself and mokes him recognize- tho supremo claims of tho law of God as against his own sinful desires. How is truo liberty won? Through Jesus Christ nlone. Men may freo us from physical boudago and slavery, but Christ nlono can break the chains of sin and mako us spiritually free. If wo enjoy tho liberty wherewith Christ hath mndo ua frco, wo nre frco indeed. Otherwise wo nro not free. Christ is willing to mako us all free to givo us power to overcoino sin, self and tho world and to livo for God, our fellow .men and tho lifo to come. Biblo Readings. The Sunrise service held by the Christian Endeavorers Easter morning was a delightful one to those who attended. The tporning was most beautiful as was the whole day and the special tffort required to take part in tbis special service lent zest and meaning to the occasion. The attendance at the Catholic Church Sunday morning was large. The visitors by special train were not as numerous as in former years but the town was fairly populous with strangers by rail and vehicle and services there and elsewhere well attended The Catholic Easier service is really no more than (he usual Sunday service and not special as is usually thought by at some distance from a congregation of that faith. The members of the General Baptist Church organized a Sunday School last Sunday. The necessary officers were elected and the school at once proceeded to business. The school meets at 9 o'clock and devotes an hour to the study of the scriptures. All are invited to attend and participate in the interesting exercises. Rev C. C. Hall is conducting a protracted meeting at the Presbyterian church in Madisonuille, where his branch of tbe Methodist church have for years hsld their services. The Junior Endeavorers met at Lakeside Park on last Sunday afternoon and enjoyed an "Easter Hunt." Mr. Bryan Hopper was out with bis camera and took a picture of the little folks.
