trainmen engineers and firemen to go out on their runs At 8 a m Monday morning a call was mads for a crew to take out a double headed train south Crew after crew was called until the entire seven crews then at this point refused to comply The through and local freight crews already out brought In their trains and absolutely refused to come out when called as was the case at Howell Ind and at ibis point Monday night and Tuesday morning Not until Tuesday at ti 43 a m was there a freight train moved on the Henderson division since 6 p m the day before This delay was on account of getting into line the new men brought here from Nashville Tenn and St Louis Mo to take the places ot the strikers On Wednesday the same state ot affairs prevailed Two more trains were sent out in chargo of new men from this point and one from Howell Ind No violence was attempted oil the part of the men here everything being conducted In a quiet and peaceable manner At Howell however things were different There the old men Interferred somewhat in the making up of trains by pulling pins etc An attempt was also made to derail a freight train which pulled In the yard at Howell Wednesday morning A frog had been doctored for that purpose but the speed of the train alone prevented a wreck The same train crew on arriving at Henderson found evidence of meanness on the part of some individual who should be now serving a term in the penitentiary A switch was so placed as to plainly show the intention of the unknown would be train wrecker The engine was off the track before the train could be brought to a full stop thus enabling the scamp whoever he may be an opportunity to laugh in his sleeve at the result of bis labor This caused a few hours delay but no damage was done be side the track
