question about which there should not have been any iota difference among colored people One evening during Ramblers vinit he enjoyed delight ful dinner in company with Mr W H Daip at thR heantiful home of Mr cnn Mr8 Shelbv yi yhave ly Mr Davidson IIH an old State Urn versify boy and went to Wanhinglon song years ago where he has had a position in the Oovernment nervin0 Re also studied law and holds a diploma l from the law department of Howard University Another evening Mr W H Wright formerly an attache of your paper wh iis living its Washington gave Rambler an elaborate supper in one of the best re taurant in the city Sunday Waq busy day with Rambler and he had his hands full from early morn to dewy eve It rained in the morning but ceared off about 9 oclock and was a lovely day Rambler always goes to Sunday School so he spent an hour at Vermount Ave Sunday School and then goon Berean Sunday School at the oose Roth Sunday Schools were live only and interesting Rambler orshlp lied at the Berean church and heard an enjoyable sermon from Rev Rivers the earnest pastor of the church Rev W R Pettiford D D of Birmingham esrasaietod in the services At litonelusion of the sermon the ordinance of the Lords Supper was administered and we witnessed something new u der the sun Many members of the church quietly excused themselves and the ordinance was administered to those who remained and not a word was spoken except In prayer during its observance In the afternoon Rambler visited the Sunday ohool of the Epis copal church of which our young friend Mr H P Slaughter is Super n tendent and spent a few minutes profitably and then went to the lyceum which meets at the second Baptist church every Sunday afternoon There was the usual good attendance and tbeA paper and the discussions v ere bothf Supperhethe afternoon servi e On Monday eve ning Rambler witnessed an exhibit in the church which wen one of the best be has ever seen Sunday evening Rambler heard a splendid sermon from Dr George W Lee at Vermont Ave church It was one of the shortest sermons Rambler eyer heard Dr Lee preach and sUIIIt one of the most eloquent Rambler also spent a few minutes at th Lovelyl Zion Baptist church Rev S G Lamp kin pastor This was enough for one day and Rambler was pefectly willing ITLjoIA to slumber without any rocking Ont of the toast enjoyable features of this stay way tho time spent in visiting the Manuell Training School under the principalsnip of Dr Bruce Evans a most congenialllIUld efficient inntructor This visit was made iu company with Mr W H Davis who was no IeAs pleased than year scribe This is oneof the handsomest school building Rambler has ever seen and it is a rued ei Iu equipment and work The pupils are instructed in blacksmithinjr ma chine and interested in religious orkif f they arc started right and ttrained right and this can only be done by those who are in touch with the young people By 1 this we do not mean that there must be an ap J proval of any of their errors but rather that sympathy jnd interest which bring human hearts and ac ti ns into unison with each other ONE of the needs 01 the school system ot this city is a new High School building for the acc muoda tion and instruction of the rapidly increasing number of pupils who attend there from year to year 1- I goes without saying that it is need ed and greatly needed in order that the best results may De secured for L the money expended The School Bjard provides liberally for the schools t ut their work could be greatly improved ifa suitable building fur the High School was pro vided There are too many de- artments in the one building for J PIhoweveriand efficient the teach 1 1competent and it will be a great benefit to aU if the High School iis given separate quarters and it be equipped with the necessary ap par tits As it is now only a part t tothe pupi s can get in the chapel E at one time and thus they are de prn ed of these gatherings This is need of
