dormitory and hope to send oUttr Lewis as their messenger to Franklin We left on Tuesday morning for Haw esvllle where upon arrival we were met at the station by Miss Warren It was an extremely hot day we were indeed almost unequal to the task of climbing 0 the hUt to our boarding place We were 1lOOn made pleasant in the comfortable home of dear lister Warren whom we 4 were sorry to find away to the train by our beloved president Mrs M E Steward we were soon off for historic Barostown In company with many ministers weIreached our destnatoh where we were met by Profs Hawkins and Jordan who were acting as escorts to tbe messenger We were welcomed at the Parsonage by Rev and Mrs Keeton after taking nptper with them we were after night service assigned to the home of deacon Lewis Hines at whose home we were indeed most pleasantly entertained It was in 8 deed Interesting to bear deaoon Hines relate Iin a tremulous voice the things incident to the establishment of a MU sionay Baptist church at Bardstown Bow a few faithful men he in the 1 risked their lives their home their a rtaa they stood on guard while the Roppl was being preached in their humble place of worship and bow houses were set on tire loin one end of the oily 1 to the other to excite the people and thus detract their attention from the gospel as preached One Lord Due Faith and One Baptism but they stood firm for indeed handsomely entertain the Associ ation God be praised I Grant that dear brother Keeton and his faithful wife who are laboring heart and band togeth er in the Masters vineyard at this pjaoe may he live long to do much more good for God and the denomination We were indeed glad to learn through deacon Charles Allen this fact that through the unswerving leadership of Rev Keeton they had been able to cancel a debt of seven hundred 700 00 dollars an old debt not of his making A side from keeping up our rent ex asPBaptist unite in one prayer that even a greater work for the Maater may yet bp Cterof history and most of the breth ften are casting about for sn opinion 4 as o the impressions and results of I thesessibn It was an unusual meet ingin many respects and the work it accomplished was unusual The attendance was not as large as was 4 expected and the money ollected was above the average expectation I as the diferences among the breth I Irenin the state was expected to materially affect this part of the work The mount collected was r rI5319 ahout 70000 less than last year and it was apportioned about as follows State University f 64400 State Missions 22628 4 Foreign Missions 15769 Associ I rk ational expences including minutes 37694 and quite a large sum for other denominational objects As we e suspected there was strong senti S ment against approving the work of the Executive Board in organizingI the Baptist Womens Missionary TItOflVC1Ttflflffthe Asscciatiorf I withheld this approval until the matter was passed upon by a com- o mittee appointed to consider that question and report next year Pee culiar conditions developed in the matter of electing officers and though it was understood that the Moderator would not stand for re election still it was found to be in the interest of peace and harmony to do thai very thing and Rev J H Frank D D was elected Modera tor again There vaS some confusion as a matter ofcurse but wise coun sels prevailed mutual explanations were made and what at one time seemed to be the parting of the ways was avoided and an understanding reached that will no doubt be a ben 1 I efit to the work The majority of jt the
