Street, who has most of the responsibility behind the bat for the Washington Americans, first played ball in the South. After playing in several minor leagues and with Cincinnati, he started the reason of 1908 with the Washingtons. Street was the first player who ever caught a ball dropped from the Washington Monument, over 500 feet. In his three years with Washington he had 528 assists in 357 games, a fine record.
