The team is the Boston Rustlers. Verso: A.A. Mattern. A.A. Mattern, the star southpaw of the Boston National League Club, commence playing professional ball with Indianapolis in 1905. In 1906 he was with Montréal, and in 1907, pitching for the Holyokes of the Connecticut League, helped them win the pennant by securing 16 victories out of 23 games. In the fall of 1907 he was bought by the Boston Nationals and has developed into the mainstay of their pitching staff.
